After all, food only needs to kill a hunger, is not it? And of course, we want to throw in our stomach as useful food as possible and not a fast food garbage.   1. Govindam – vegetarian/vegan restaurant.

    Open Tue-Fri 11:00-15:00, Sat 12:00pm-16:00pm. Indian (Bengal) based food.  7-11 euro per good meal

    The restaurant is set in a beautiful, old red mansion. In the same building, there is also the Krishna Temple in Helsinki. The Govindam Vegetarian Restaurant is located about a five-minute walk from Malmi Train Station. A neighboring house is a service house.

    This is the best place for the price and usefulness of cooked food.On Tuesdays and Thursdays, lunch is completely vegan! That’s what I’ll tell you – these guys know how to cook what’s really tasty and useful. There are three options for the size of a serving – a small, medium and large plate. Usually, it is soup, the second dish and a glass of water. Take an average portion and half a day you will forget about hunger. It will be about nine euros. Also separately you can buy some Indian sweetness. A full dinner cooked with love. Based on Indian tradition, Ayurveda and devotion. Also, has a Sunday feast.     This is a wonderful place to be in the famous district of Kallio. And it is a part of an international chain of vegan restaurants. For 10 euros you can eat as much as you can. Very friendly staff. The tofu which in the dishes they make themselves. If you are hungry strolling through the streets of Helsinki, then this is the place where you will fill your belly. And after, you will forget to think about food for a long time. All-you-can-eat buffet for only 10 euro. Here you will find vegan versions of Asian/Vietnamese food from sushi to pork in sweet and sour sauce. Still not hungry?

    Once having come here to dine with a girl, we surprised by the ratio of the price and the excellent quality of the food. Eat how much it will fit, but this meal I tell you causes a desire to eat even when you mastered your full plate. Dishes completely copying the taste of dishes from pork or beef in texture and taste.     One day my friend and I were on a Sunday in Helsinki. We worked on the horizontal bars on the embankment of the city and strolled sensed a sickly famine. How to bake a Vegan Naradi cake?

You will need –

  • 300 gr of white flour or all-purpose flour
  • 150 gr of brown sugar (but, if you want, better to use dates)
  • 80 gr of carob flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 0,5 ts of a Himalayan pink salt
  • 1,5 gr of dry vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 200 ml of water
  • 50 gr of melted coconut oil (or other vegetable oil)

Mix all wet ingredients and all dry ingredients. After, mix it together slowly about 2-3 minutes until well blended. Grease the baking dish and pour the mix. Preheat oven to 190 C (375F) and bake your Naradi cake for about 30 minutes. Enjoy!

  • 400 grams of white flour
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 200 grams of brown sugar
  • 150 grams of coconut oil
  • 200 ml of plant milk
  • 2 medium bananas
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp of lemon peel

How to bake a vegan banana lemon cake?

So, first of all, preheat your oven to 180 C/ 350 F. Melt in a separate bowl coconut oil and mix with brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mashed bananas and lemon peel until blended. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together. Mix warm plant milk with the lemon juice. Add all wet ingredients to dry mix. After, stir it well. Oil the baking form with coconut oil and pour the cake in. Bake about 40-50 minutes or until light brown.

The writing of this post precedes my personal story. I and my good friend Valek bought cheap tickets from Riga to Oslo by Wizz Air. We were very happy with such a successful buy. But later, after seeing the airport of arrival under the name Oslo Sandefjørd Torp, we were a little taken aback – 110 km from Oslo! We climbed up to look for all sorts of information and it took us a while. But thanks to this article, you guys will definitely know all about how to get to Oslo from Sandefjørd Torp airport and back. On the way from the window, you will see beautiful views of Norwegian nature and small towns that you will pass through. The train makes stops in passing cities. So, if you need to go out for example in Drammen – this is the train that suits you, too.

Remember- if you use Lux Express buses to Riga from Russia, etc., they will take you to the Riga airport. The most simple and budgetary option to get to Riga Airport is the bus 22. And the best place for landing is a stop on the street Janvara iela. This stop is equally close to the central railway station and the international bus station of the city of Riga and the closest if you go from the old town. Travel in the city of Riga is cheap. If you buy a ticket from the driver it will cost 2 euros, but even cheaper to buy an e-ticket, it costs 1.15 euros. You can buy e-ticket in any kiosk as well as in ticket machines and it gives you the right to make one trip on any public transport.

When you entering public transport – bus, trolleybus or tram, apply a yellow or a blue e-ticket to an electronic validator. Bus 22 has direct services between the airport and the city center. The bus goes often enough. The time from the city center to the airport takes 30 minutes, the bus stops right in front of the terminal.
